About Watchung
Watchung is a borough of roughly 6,400 residents in Somerset County, New Jersey. Its name comes from the Lenape word for "high hills," reflecting the ridgelines that define the area. Incorporated in 1926, the borough centers on the historic Watchung Circle, home to the Texier House Museum, and on Best Lake, a man-made lake once used for winter ice harvesting.
